PRP Diagnostic Imaging further expands our Hunter presence and welcomes GXU Radiology Specialists to our network.
We’re pleased to welcome GXU Radiology Specialists – a stand-alone practice located in Thornton, New South Wales to the PRP Diagnostic Imaging network.
GXU offers a range of diagnostic services, including X-ray, OPG, ultrasound and CT on site with PRP providing access to MRI, PET, NM and other modalities nearby. The addition of GXU to our network further enhances our presence across the Hunter and Greater Newcastle regions. Patients and referrers will now have access to 10 practices across the Hunter region, including GXU Thornton, PRP’s existing locations in Adamstown, Charlestown, Maitland and Cessnock, as well as the recently acquired Alto locations in Glendale, Mayfield, Salamander Bay, East Maitland and Singleton.
We are also delighted to welcome Dr Scott Quadrelli to PRP, who has developed the Thornton service into a comprehensive radiology offering with a keen interest in cross-sectional cardiac imaging, particularly CT coronary angiography (CTCA). Dr Quadrelli also offers rapid access to minimally invasive interventional procedures, such as image guided biopsies (lung, liver and bone) and pain injections.
Please join us in welcoming Scott and the GXU team to PRP. Together, PRP and GXU will continue to deliver the highest standard of care – now with 39 practices locally and across NSW.

Welcoming Alto Imaging to the PRP network
PRP Diagnostic Imaging is proud to welcome Alto Imaging to our network, an established, locally owned and operated radiology network serving the Hunter and Greater Newcastle regions. This partnership brings together two trusted names in radiology - both committed to patient care, clinical excellence, and supporting our communities.
The Alto Imaging network includes six practices located in Glendale, Mayfield, Salamander Bay, East Maitland, Singleton and Cessnock, which will open in late 2025 as a new PRP practice. PRP already has a strong presence nearby, with practices in Maitland, Charlestown and Adamstown, and a network across NSW of more than 1,000 imaging professionals committed to excellence and innovation. Welcoming Alto Imaging to the PRP network allows us to expand access to advanced imaging services and strengthens our collaboration across the network or local radiologists, technologists and support teams. Both PRP and Alto Imaging are guided by clinical leadership, a commitment to innovation, and a shared vision of providing exceptional care for patients and referrers by providing comprehensive diagnostic imaging services in the communities we serve.
In the coming months, you’ll still see the same friendly Alto team - now supported by PRP’s wider diagnostic network. You’ll continue to visit the same Alto Imaging locations, be greeted by the same caring staff, and receive the same high-quality service and reporting you trust.

In Loving Memory of Dr. Peter Carr
It is with deep sadness and profound gratitude that we remember Dr. Peter Carr, a cherished colleague, and an integral part of PRP Diagnostic Imaging.
Peter’s contributions went far beyond his exceptional professional expertise; his unwavering commitment to patient care, his kindness, and his mentorship left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him. He had a unique ability to bring warmth and humour to even the most challenging days, and his passion for radiology inspired us all.
Peter was not just a colleague; he was a friend, a confidant, and a cornerstone of our practice. His dedication to his craft and his genuine care for his patients made a lasting impact that will be felt for generations.
As we reflect on the many memories we shared, we celebrate Peter’s incredible life and honour the legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Our thoughts are with Peter’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his memory continue to guide and inspire us all.
Gosford Health Hub
Gosford health hub is an important investment for PRP to continue to expand our services with the growing population of the central coast. We are thrilled to be opening in this location and look forward to working alongside other health professionals within the new facility.
An investment like this means more capacity for patients which equates to reduced waiting time. More imaging options which means no need to travel to Sydney for high end imaging. Proud to reinvest in Gosford - we opened our first practice there and the health hub will be our largest!
