PRP’s presence in the Illawarra region dates back to 2007, with 2 locations operating out of Wollongong & Shellharbour.

The Wollongong location was a new practice opened by PRP, while Shellharbour was an established radiology practice that PRP purchased.

These locations were strategically chosen to make the services that PRP offer easily accessible for patients in both the northern and southern ends of the Illawarra region.

Today both Illawarra practice locations offer the following modalities: CT, Dexa/BMD, Injections & Biopsies, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Cardiac Services, X-ray.

PRP prides itself on employing highly qualified specialists and technicians. It's no different for the practice managers operating in the Illawarra region who both have many years of experience in the fields of radiology and medical imaging.

PRP's Wollongong practice manager Dr Alex Peterson joined PRP Diagnostic Imaging in 2007. Dr Peterson’s qualifications include BSc (Hons1), MB BS (Hons 1), FRANZCR and his specialties include Oncology, Injections and Biopsies. He completed an MRI fellowship at Westmead Hospital and previously worked as an associate/partner in a practice on the South coast of NSW.

PRP's Shellharbour practice manager Dr Andrew van den Heever joined PRP Diagnostic Imaging in 2019. His credentials include MBChB, FCRad (diag), FRANZCR and his specialties include Orthopaedic and Sports Imaging. Andrew’s special interest is musculoskeletal radiology and he is a founding member of the South African Musculoskeletal Imaging group.
