About Our Hunter Valley Clinics
PRP was first established in the Hunter region in 2015. Today, PRP has 10 locations operating out of Charlestown, Adamstown, Maitland, Cessnock - as well as Singleton, Glendale, Mayfield, East Maitland, Salamander Bay - formerly Alto Imaging practices joining 4 May 2026 - and Thornton - currently operating as GXU Radiology Specialists.
Conveniently located across the Hunter Valley, patients living closer to Newcastle can easily access the Adamstown, Charlestown, Mayfield, Glendale practices, while those living further north can access the Thornton, Maitland, East Maitland, Cessnock, Salamander Bay practices, with those living in the upper Hunter able to access our Singleton practice.

Since 2015 each practice has grown and advanced in the services offered as well as the technology and equipment being used by PRP.
Adamstown, Maitland and Charlestown locations offer Cardiac Services, CT Scans, Injections & Biopsies, X-rays, MRIs and Ultrasound.
Adamstown & Maitland also offer DEXA/BMD, Mammography & Nuclear Medicine.
Cessnock offers CT, Ultrasound, DEXA/BMD, Injections & Biopsies & X-rays .
New Hunter Practices from 4 May 2026
As part of the integration of Alto Imaging into the PRP network, the following practices are now part of PRP Diagnostic Imaging - expanding access to imaging services across the region: Glendale, Mayfield, East Maitland, Salamander Bay, and Singleton.
These locations continue to be supported by experienced local teams, now backed by PRP’s broader network of radiologists, technology and system - enhancing connectivity, access and continuity of care. Service availability varies by location, with a range of modalities including CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray and interventional procedures offered across the network.
Glendale
Glendale offers CT scans, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammograms and X-Rays, supporting both general and more advanced imaging needs. The clinic also provides nuclear medicine services, giving patients access to comprehensive diagnostic imaging in one location. Interventional procedures, including injections and image-guided biopsies, are also available by appointment.
Mayfield
Mayfield offers CT scans, ultrasound and X-Rays, providing convenient access to essential imaging services for the local community. Interventional procedures, including injections and image-guided biopsies, are also available by appointment.
East Maitland
East Maitland offers CT scans, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, PET scans and X-Rays, delivering a broad range of imaging services in one location. The clinic also provides DEXA/BMD, along with interventional procedures such as injections and image-guided biopsies, available by appointment.
Salamander Bay
Salamander Bay offers CT scans, MRI, Ultrasound and X-Rays, supporting everyday imaging needs. The clinic also provides DEXA/BMD and OPG services, as well as interventional procedures including injections and image-guided biopsies, available by appointment.
Singleton
Singleton offers CT scans, MRI, Ultrasound and X-Rays, providing accessible imaging services for the Upper Hunter community. The clinic also offers DEXA/BMD along with interventional procedures including injections and image-guided biopsies, available by appointment.

Specialists for all of your needs
PRP is proud to make available one of the highest-qualified specialists and technicians in the Hunter Valley. Our practice manager, who oversees Adamstown and Charlestown locations has over a decade of experience in the field of radiology and medical imaging.
Dr Mark Fiorentino joined PRP Diagnostic Imaging in 2021.
His credentials include MD, MMed, FRCR, FRANZCR and EDiNR.
Dr Fiorentino graduated in medicine from the University of Malta. Undertaking his training as a radiologist at the Royal Hobart Hospital he also obtained dual fellowships with the Royal College of Radiologists (UK) and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. Dr Fiorentino has a subspecialist interest and training in Neuroradiology European Diploma in Neuroradiology, and European Diploma in Paediatric Neuroradiology.
Dr Fiorentino is a highly qualified and experienced specialist. He is a RANZCR Examiner, and his knowledge has been called upon as a presenter in local and overseas settings.

PET/CT
- 2 – 3 hour procedure
- Preparation given at booking
- Wear comfortable clothes with no metal
Nuclear Medicine
- 1 - 4 hour procedure
- Some procedures are done in 2 parts on same day
- Preparation given at booking
Injection & Biopsies
- 20 – 60 minute procedure
- May be unable to drive home
- Additional observation time may be needed
Mammography
- 20 minute procedure (not including ultrasound)
- No talc, deodorant or body lotion
- Wear two piece outfit
