Dr Stephen Allwright

Dr Allwright is a consultant nuclear medicine physician and joined PRP in 2016. He trained in nuclear medicine at Royal North Shore and Westmead hospitals in the 1980s and did a fellowship in paediatric nuclear medicine at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in 1988 and 1989. He returned to take up a staff specialist position in nuclear medicine and ultrasound at Westmead Hospital before leaving to open Dee Why Nuclear Medicine with Dr Cooper in 1991.

He has been the managing partner of Dee Why Nuclear Medicine for the last 25 years. He is a VMO at the Northern Beaches Hospital and at the Mater Hospital at Crows Nest. Dr Allwright has authored many publications, including a highly regarded book on nuclear imaging in sports medicine.

He currently teaches 3rd year medical students and has lectured nuclear medicine registrars and technologists over many years. He was also previously involved in education for GPs and physiotherapists.
