PRP - Proudly supporting Dreams2Live4
PRP Staff are Dream Makers
Dreams2Live4's Meaghan Lucas said the money raised through the PRP Ball will help make 11 dreams come true.
"Thank you to all the PRP staff for their wonderful support. We are so honoured to help these patients at such a dark time in their lives. The staff of PRP have been able to help shine a light and bring joy. We will keep you updated with the lives you have touched and the Dreams you have made come true."
Dreams2Live4 is a nationally registered charity . This unique organisation helps make Dreams come true for adult patients, like Wendy and Troy, who are living with metastatic cancer (meaning any cancer which has spread from its original site). Cancer drains families of joy, hope and finances. It can be a long and gruelling battle. By offering patients a chance to dream, we reignite a sense of control and optimism in their lives. Conversations change and so does the outlook of patients and their families. To find out more please go to www.dreams2live4.org.au.
A MAGnificent Dream comes true for PRP Patient Troy
As a boy, Troy had a passion for cars. He dreamed of one day driving with Mag Wheels on his Commodore. This was his boyhood image of success. But as time went by, responsibilities mounted and there was never the money to do it. Tragically Troy was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. He wrote: "Now I have left it too late. I can no longer work and I will never be able to afford them".
The money raised by PRP staff has helped Dreams2Live4 grant Troy's Dream and he is now the proud owner of Mag Wheels for his Holden Commodore. For Troy, these mag wheels represent everything he wanted his life to be when he was young. Cancer has stripped so much from Troy's life. But this simple dream has empowered him and has brought him so much joy.
Imagine not seeing your grandchildren in more than 6 years...
...Many of us couldn't imagine the heartbreak. But for Wendy, it was her reality. Her long battle with metastatic cancer had drained her and husband John financially. They were unable to travel the long distance: all the way from Sydney to Western Australia. This was devastating for Wendy, who was desperate to see her grandkids again. She yearned to spend time with her family, creating memories her grandkids could cherish forever. Dreams2Live4, with the help of the funds raised by PRP staff, made Wendy's Dream come true. Wendy was able to hold her grandchildren in her arms one last time and spend precious time with her family.
The recent PRP Staff Ball raised money to support the charity Dreams2Live4. These funds are already being put to good use making Dreams come true for patients with metastatic cancer. Because of PRP's large presence in oncology imaging, many of the dreamers helped by this unique charity are also patients of PRP. Wendy is a Dreamer and a PRP patient from the Central Coast practices. We were thrilled to learn that some of the money raised by PRP has been used to make Wendy's Dream come true. Wendy was able to hold her grandchildren in her arms one last time and spend precious time with her family.
Wendy asked Dreams2Live4 to pass this message on to all our PRP Staff.
"John and I would like to thank you for the opportunity to see our grandchildren once more. Words cannot express our gratitude for this gift. Have a wonderful day because I am feeling ON TOP of the world!"
