PRP Eastwood To Introduce Digital PET/CT Cancer Imaging

Coming Soon

Multi-million-dollar investment improving access to cancer imaging in Eastwood

PRP Diagnostic Imaging is expanding access to advanced PET imaging technology with a multi-million-dollar investment in a new digital PET/CT service at PRP Eastwood. The service will further strengthen PRP’s growing network of digital PET/CT sites across NSW, giving more patients across Sydney’s northern and inner-west suburbs access to world-class cancer imaging closer to home.

The new Eastwood service will utilise the latest-generation digital PET/CT technology, offering significantly enhanced image quality and diagnostic accuracy. This allows clinicians to detect cancer earlier, tailor treatments more precisely, and assess treatment effectiveness sooner, ultimately supporting better patient outcomes.

For local patients and families, the service represents a significant step forward in access to care. By bringing specialist cancer imaging into the local community, patients will be able to undergo complex investigations closer to home, reducing travel time, stress, and disruption during what is often an already challenging period.

“Bringing digital PET/CT to Eastwood is another important step in our commitment to placing patients at the centre of everything we do,” Jacyn Mellish, the Head of Molecular Imaging and Oncology at PRP Diagnostic Imaging said. “This large investment builds on the success of our Oncology services and reflects our ongoing commitment to improving access to high-quality cancer care while supporting referrers with timely, reliable results.”

This investment strengthens diagnostic imaging infrastructure across Sydney and reflects PRP’s ongoing commitment to ensuring communities have access to high-quality diagnostic services, wherever they live.

Located at 247 Ryedale Road, Eastwood, PRP Eastwood is a comprehensive diagnostic imaging centre, providing seamless coordination across imaging modalities. This integrated approach supports faster diagnoses, streamlined care and a better experience for patients and referrers alike.

The PET/CT service is expected to open this calendar year. Referrals can be submitted via eReferral with results typically available within 24 – 48 hours. PET/CT imaging is a bulk billing supported service at PRP Diagnostic Imaging for all Medicare eligible patients and referrals. PRP expect the new centre to image over 500 local patients in the first year of operations.
